Welcome to John Derris Magic

I’m not a star.
I’m no Alex Elmsley, Michael Ammar, Guy Hollingsworth or magic practitioner of that ilk. But I am a working magician. Have performed magic all over the world from Osaka to Golders Green and have come up with a few ideas and written a few things about magic from time to time.
I’m middle of the road like hundreds of other magi who love the art and I’ve been encouraged by a number of friends to open up this site to let loose random news, reviews, thoughts, opinions and ideas past and present as a means of keeping in touch with a greater number of magicians. They’ll be in no particular order for they will be penned as I happen to remember them but having been around magic for over half a century and seen many of the greats I believe there are many who like to hear of the achievements and things of the wonderful past of magic from the many conversations I’ve had with others at magic clubs and conventions.
From time to time I’ll also be including some effects and routines that I have originated in the past so it will be a real fruit salad.

hope all is well with you
